Sleep, diet and exercise are the keys to mental health and they all interact; I was told this as a student. I was taught that most people see great results by balancing these three areas. That is to say, if one was not right, it can often be corrected by adjusting one or both of the others. I have been using this technique ever since. I learned in my practice and with personal experience (I suffered horrible insomnia for most of my life) that everyone has their own requirements, so some will need a more sleep than others and some will need more exercise or a special diet. I suggest talking to your doctor before making any big changes. The search for the right foods, circadian rhythm and activities can take a while and change over time, so it can be a long journey, but, if it works, it can save a ton of time and money on meds and therapy.
